Bluebonnet Anatomy 3 Part Cards

$3.00

Teach your child the parts of a bluebonnet with hand-painted watercolor 3-part cards designed for hands-on learning.

This set covers 8 parts of the Texas Bluebonnet, from the whole plant down to the individual flower anatomy: leaves, roots, stem, flower spike, banner petal, wing petals, keel, and calyx. Each card features original watercolor artwork painted by Liza Dora.

What's Inside

Two full sets of Montessori 3-part nomenclature cards (control cards + picture/label cards for matching), plus an Instructions and Ideas page with activity suggestions and tips by age level.

Two Levels of Learning

Start with the four whole-plant parts (leaves, roots, stem, flower spike) for younger learners. When they're ready, introduce the close-up flower anatomy cards: banner petal, wing petals, keel, and calyx. These are the parts that make a bluebonnet a member of the legume family, and they're the same structures your child can find on peas, beans, and clover.

How to Use

Lay out 3 or 4 picture cards and their matching labels. Let your child match each label to the correct part. Once they've got it, remove the control cards and see if they can do it from memory. Add more parts as they grow confident.

Take the cards outside during bluebonnet season and let your child find each part on a real flower. The banner petal is the large top petal with the white or yellow spot. The wing petals sit on either side. The keel is tucked underneath, and the calyx is the small green cup at the base.

What You Get

8 hand-painted watercolor cards covering whole plant + flower anatomy. Control cards (picture + label together) for self-checking. Matching cards (picture and label separated) for independent work. Instructions + Ideas page with activity suggestions for ages 3 to 10. Instant digital download, ready to print.
