Moon Phase Wooden Coins

IMG_1531.JPG

You can find these Moon Phase Cut-Out Coins in my mini unit called The Moon and its Phases. For use with the unit you don’t have to affix them to wooden coins, but in doing so you can create something your child will use again and again.

We use our Moon Phases Wooden Coins to count, to stack, to order, and along with our Moon Phases Montessori 3 Part Cards.

For this project you’ll need:

First, we cut out half of the moon phases. (The set on the page is doubled.)

We then brushed the Mod Podge onto to the tops of the coins. I like the matte finish. All Matte Everythang would be the title of my rap album and its debut single, were I to change careers.

Next, center your cut-out moons in the middle of your coins and paint over with the ModPodge (“All Matte Everythang!” You know you were thinking it.)

Allow to dry fully before use. We went ahead and did two coats just because they were so cute and I didn’t want them to get scratched or nicked.

These little guys are fun! You can use them throughout your Moon Phase Mini Unit or even attach magnets to the back to make a cute decoration for your fridge!
